Shirley A. Copeland, formerly of Bowerston, passed peacefully into her Lord and Savior's arms in the early morning hours on Saturday, November 23, 2024, at Claymont Health and Rehabilitation in Uhrichsville, after suffering a debilitating stroke on September 11, 2019.
Shirley was born September 20, 1937, in Tappan, Ohio, to the late Charles E and Ethel L. Fowler. She was a proud 1956 graduate of Scio High School, where she participated in band and was Head Majorette. She was Homecoming Queen her senior year, along with being a member of the National Thespian Society. On October 26, 1958, Shirley married George E. Copeland. They were married 64 years, until his passing on December 18, 2022. Shirley became a licensed cosmetologist and was employed many years in that profession at Sunnyslope Nursing Home in Bowerston, until illness forced her to change that position.
